Back of House - Lead - The Fattened Caf - 3405 S Jefferson

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Back of House Lead to support daily kitchen and operational workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for helping maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, organization, and team coordination to ensure smooth and efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support back of house team members during scheduled shifts.
• Help ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented according to established standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures consistently.
• Assist with training new team members on station procedures and operational expectations.
• Coordinate workflow to help meet service demands and minimize delays.
• Communicate effectively with management and front of house team members as needed.
• Address minor operational issues promptly and escalate concerns when appropriate.
• Support a positive team culture through professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years previous experience in a kitchen, food service, or similar back of house environment.
• Strong Plating background and running the hot line.
• Experience leading or supporting a team in a fast-paced setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and operational best practices.
• Ability to follow procedures, maintain quality standards, and stay organized under pressure.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and perform routine kitchen tasks.
