Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our client, a growing and well-established organization in Knoxville, TN, is seeking a Contract Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their accounting team. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving AR performance, resolving complex billing issues, managing team escalations, delegating workload, and ensuring strong cash flow management. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the full-cycle accounts receivable process Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on outstanding balances Partner with customers and internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts accurately and timely Prepare and analyze AR reports, trends, and KPIs for leadership Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and reporting Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce DSO Mentor and provide guidance to junior AR team members (if applicable) Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls Qualifications 7+ years of progressive accounts receivable experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity Strong understanding of AR processes, credit, collections, and cash application Experience handling high-volume or complex accounts Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) Excellent communication and problem-solving skills High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Benefit offerings include PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and 401K plan.
