Technical Support Sales Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop strong technical knowledge of product lines, including emergency lighting controls and inverter systems
- Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and engineers regarding product application, design, and troubleshooting
- Create and revise technical documentation, including product manuals, specifications, submittals, and technical briefs
- Support customer demonstrations, product evaluations, and turnkey project execution
- Deliver technical presentations and training sessions via phone, virtual meetings, in-person visits, and trade shows
- Collaborate with National Sales Managers to develop sales proposals and customer solutions
- Assist in identifying customer requirements and recommending appropriate product applications or alternative solutions
- Maintain strong customer relationships and provide ongoing technical support throughout the sales cycle
- Travel as required (approximately 30%) to support customer needs, training, and project activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical work experience
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing technical support
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems or circuitry
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide effective solutions
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outside sales or manufacturing equipment sales
- Background in electrical applications, lighting controls, or power systems
- Familiarity with emergency lighting systems, inverters, or related technologies
- Experience supporting engineers, contractors, or distributor networks
- Strong understanding of competitive positioning and technical product comparison
