Senior Network Developer - Build

Salary: $91,400 - 187,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring experience in large ISP or cloud provider environments.
• We have hands-on exposure to commodity Ethernet hardware such as Broadcom and Mellanox.
• We have deep knowledge of routing and transport protocols, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, and MPLS.
• We have experience with internet peering, inter-domain networking, and VPN/SSL technologies.
• We are proficient in scripting and automation, with Python preferred, and in datacenter design.
• We are familiar with automation frameworks, network modeling such as YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF, and telemetry platforms.
• We have a strong understanding of network security design, system performance testing, and operational monitoring.
• We communicate effectively and have demonstrated the ability to influence product direction and priorities.

• We participate in network lifecycle management through build and upgrade initiatives.
• We work with program and project managers to define milestones and deliverables.
• We carry out network changes using established procedures and tools, and create new procedures when needed.
• We act as a technical lead on team projects, helping shape the roadmap, developing runbooks and methods of procedure, and mentoring junior engineers.
• We contribute to solution and architecture design and develop standalone features.
• We support operational rotations, provide break-fix assistance, and serve as an escalation point.
• We lead post-event root cause analysis and remediation efforts.
• We collaborate with automation services to build and integrate tooling and script routine tasks.
• We act as a subject matter expert for network automation initiatives.
• We work with vendors to resolve software defects, qualify new firmware and operating systems, and help influence the product roadmap.
• We troubleshoot cables, trunks, optics, and structured cabling systems.
• We support complex network events through break-fix and escalation handling.

We are collaborating with Oracle to connect exceptional professionals to this role. Our Network Region Build team deploys greenfield infrastructure, establishes network connectivity for new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure regions, and enables compute connectivity for child sites. We build and manage data center fabrics, edge networks, backbone and fiber metro networks, and support multi-cloud initiatives. We provide 24x7 operational coverage during build phases and oversee network and server rack additions, decommissions, and capacity expansions. We also drive automation, process improvements, and tool development with Network Automation to improve efficiency. This is an IC3-level role supporting large-scale global cloud networks, with a U.S. hiring range of $91,400 to $187,000 per year, and it may be eligible for bonus and equity.
