Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager

Job Summary The Warehouse & Inventory Control Manager at PNC leads the company’s warehouse network, establishes best‑in‑class inventory processes, and drives freight service performance, cost savings, and continuous improvement. This role manages vendors, develops team capability, and collaborates closely with logistics leadership to support future growth. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement inventory policies, procedures, and strategies to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve supply‑chain performance. Monitor stock, analyze demand, prevent shortages or over‑stock, and maintain inventory accuracy in 3PL warehouses. Collaborate with transportation suppliers to create solutions that meet company goals and ensure long‑term carrier viability. Ensure safety procedures and warehouse standards are followed across all 3PL sites. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to business development and general projects. Warehouse Operations Manage 3PL warehouse and order fulfillment operations: pick accuracy, on‑time shipping, inventory accuracy, repacking, rates, item set‑up, and bidding. Direct relationships with 3PL providers, negotiate solutions, and ensure efficient operations. Track warehouse performance through KPI scorecards, regular business reviews, and contractual agreements. Develop and monitor the warehouse budget and forecast, analyze variances, and drive cost improvement. Collaborate with IT on system enhancements to support best‑in‑class operations. People Leadership Provide thought leadership in the development of team strategies and objectives. Lead and develop optimal organizational structure to meet strategic objectives and daily service requirements. Manage and develop team members to enhance corporate culture and support individual growth. Cost Management Report monthly warehousing budget versus actual costs, identify root causes of variances. Work with logistics leadership to create yearly budgets. Audit invoices to ensure rate shell matches invoice amounts. Compensation Expected pay scale: $125,000 to $135,000, varying by experience, qualifications, and geographic area. Education BA/BS degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or equivalent work experience. Experience Experience in two or more supply‑chain functions (manufacturing, logistics, warehousing). Customer‑facing experience. Experience working in a matrix reporting relationship. 3+ years of warehouse experience. Skills and Mindset Strategic and critical thinker with a strong sense of the big picture and attention to detail. Clear, diplomatic communication across all organization levels. Ability to handle customer interactions and collaborate with internal and external teams. Comfortable managing uncertainty within established policies to achieve optimal solutions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Travel up to 25% of the time.
