Physician - Rheumatology

Job Summary The Department of Internal Medicine is currently seeking a Full‑Time Rheumatologist to join our team. The Department of Internal Medicine provides specialty services across the continuum of care at JPS. We currently have over 90 providers who work in a variety of different locations including the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and our Community Medicine Clinics. Our specialties include Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology and Rheumatology. Responsibilities The Physician is responsible for administering and interpreting all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations within the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. This position will also educate patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments, may conduct physicals, order tests, and serve as a patient's healthcare provider. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Outpatient clinic – one office coverage Inpatient call coverage Procedures Administrative time Ultrasound available in clinicOnsite laboratory, imaging, infusion center, and pharmacy EPIC EMR system Virtual visit options Strong diagnostic and clinical decision‑making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR) Allowed Paid Time Off (ATO) Relocation assistance Malpractice insurance provided Health, vision, and dental insurance options Retirement options Duties and Essential Job Functions Coordinates the multidisciplinary care delivered to all patients, to optimize patient care Reviews patient medical charts to diagnose, treat, and provide care management and education to patients and families Makes appropriate patient referrals as necessary Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group Provides evidence‑based and compassionate care to all patients as assigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores, demonstrating patient centered and patient valued behavior Maintains a collaborative environment with other referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care Supports academic, educational and research endeavors Attends Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings, and is an active participant in the process Partners and communicates with acumen to build a positive brand and patient/customer experience for those who encounter JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group; this would include health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders Serves as a resource to the community Performs other job‑related duties as assigned Qualifications Required Education and Experience: Current M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine; residency and/or fellowship training within specialty Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas; board certification or board eligible Location: 1400 S.
