Engineering Technician II

Responsibilities Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence per testing procedures. Perform tests on prototypes, existing, and competitor products for mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions through ISO17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations. Use various mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement devices. Accurately interpret and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurements. Assist in the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specifications. Follow guidelines for the bill of materials. Support manufacturing through troubleshooting activities. Maintain test‑related documentation in and support administration of the database environment. Prepare formal and informal test reports. Assist with the Generac Engineering Laboratory Audit and organization 5S programs. Requirements High School Diploma. At least two (2) years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing projects or participating in project teams. Experience using specialized equipment such as engine dynamometers. Experience welding, shaping sheet metal, milling, or turning (dependent on lab location). Skills and Abilities Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to work non‑standard or extended hours when necessary. Self‑motivation and ability to complete projects within guidelines. Effective teamwork in a fast‑paced environment. Clear written and oral communication. Aptitude to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Basic understanding of electrical techniques and theories. Testing competence as required per ISO17025 and the Laboratory Scope of Operations. Provide personal basic set of tools.
