Job Summary and Qualifications The Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS) plays a crucial role by utilizing their skills and training to perform tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids. This essential information assists in diagnosing and evaluating the medical status of patients. You'll be involved in continuous quality improvement and will maintain cultural awareness while interacting with patients and colleagues. Your contributions will align with our facility's long‑range plan, mission, vision, and values. Key Responsibilities: Process specimens, ensuring proper identification and integrity. Conduct laboratory tests on patient specimens, evaluate results, and accurately report them in the Laboratory Information System. Perform and assess periodic quality control in accordance with established policies and procedures. Evaluate new and modified procedures, reagents, and instruments as directed. Troubleshoot laboratory instruments when necessary. Engage in hospital initiatives and meet departmental goals set by management. Qualifications: Associate degree; graduation from an NCCLS accredited Medical Technician program is required. Previous experience in a hospital laboratory setting is preferred. Why Join Us?
