The Access Healthcare primary care office is looking to add a full-time medical assistant. The most ideal applicant would be comfortable working under supervision with our Doctors, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in our concierge primary care and urgent care practice in Johns Island, Charleston, SC. In addition to performing some administrative functions for the urgent and primary care office, your job duties would include triaging patients, injections, blood draws, assisting with medical procedures, assisting patients over the phone with their referral and prescription refill needs, and more. The ideal candidate has experience as a Patient Care Tech, or similar positions, prior to beginning the job. *Preference is given to those candidates looking to pursue a further advanced degree, such as PA or medical school, after working with our practice for at least a year.*

Our practice does not participate with insurance, so in addition to the expectation that our assistant will be clinically fluent, they must also have a warm and caring bedside manner, be authentic, pleasant and create value for our valued patients. Applicant would be asked to work forty hours a week in the form of four, ten-hour shifts, with an option for slightly staggered hours. Preference will be given to applicants who live closer to the downtown area or Johns Island location.

Access Healthcare in Charleston, SC is looking for a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic Concierge Primary Care and Urgent Care team. Responsibilities:

• Assist physicians and providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in both concierge primary care and urgent care settings
• Perform clinical duties including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, and specimen collection
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of medical supplies
• Document patient histories, chief complaints, and clinical notes accurately in the EMR system
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and timely care delivery
• Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, prescriptions, and referrals
• Provide exceptional, personalized patient experience consistent with concierge-level care standards

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to thrive in a high-touch, hospitality-style primary and urgent care environment
• CPR/BLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
