Senior Director, Scientific Project Lead (Oncology)

Generate Biomedicines seeks a Senior Director to lead oncology scientific programs from early discovery through preclinical development. The role combines people management with cross-functional leadership across research, translational, and development teams, requiring deep scientific judgment and operational rigor to align multidisciplinary efforts and drive portfolio decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead oncology programs from concept through preclinical development with accountability for strategy, execution, and team performance
- Develop and maintain integrated program strategies aligned with scientific objectives, timelines, and resource requirements
- Identify and advance therapeutic opportunities by integrating disease biology, platform capabilities, and clinical rationale
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions, resolve scientific disagreements, and make key program decisions
- Manage scientific talent development and team effectiveness across research and development functions
Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences, oncology, or related field
- Extensive experience leading complex scientific programs from discovery through preclinical stages
- Proven track record managing and developing scientific teams
- Deep expertise in oncology therapeutic discovery and translational science
- Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with platform technologies and competitive landscape analysis
