About the Position

Job Title

Surgical Technologist – Pediatric OR (CST)

Location

Charleston, SC | Acute Care / Level I Trauma Center

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (schedule may be modified to 4x9s to accommodate unit needs) | On-call required (3–6 shifts per 4-week schedule period) | Weekend requirement around holidays | Holiday call may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into a wide range of surgical procedures including Lap Appy, Ortho Trauma, Polytrauma, and Craniotomy within a high-volume, Level I Trauma Center environment
• Support pediatric and adult surgical cases across specialties including ophthalmology, neuro, and ENT
• Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled, including potential holiday call for transplant and emergent cases
• Float within scope to sister units or sister facilities as needed to meet operational demands
• Utilize EPIC for clinical charting and documentation
• Wear and maintain a radiation badge (provided by agency) in compliance with facility safety requirements

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of continuous scrub experience
• Experience in ophthalmology, neuro, and ENT — both pediatric and adult populations
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA certification (CST) required
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with trauma, transplant, robotics, or GU-GYN surgical specialties
• Familiarity with a fast-paced, Magnet-designated academic or teaching facility environment
