Mechanical Design Engineer is a component owner of hardware to be designed or modified. It includes responsibility for all aspects of design mechanical design, model/drawing definition, creating a bill of materials and releasing into PLM, supporting hardware procurement and manufacturing/assembly support.

Essential Job Functions

• Own all aspects of mechanical design, model/drawing definition, bill of materials, and PLM release.
• Support hardware procurement and provide manufacturing/assembly support.
• Work with Drafting, Sourcing & Manufacturing, and coordinate interfaces across Aero, Heat Transfer, Materials, and Design teams.
• Navigate component and assembly drawings and identify parts in a Bill Of Materials (BOM).
• Coordinate with Leads, SMEs, CADD, Chief engineers on activities completion.

Qualifications

• BS/MS Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in component design.
• Familiarity with Unigraphics Nx and ANSYS.
• Knowledge in Boiler Pressure Vessels Code (BPVC), Solid modeling, Manufacturing to support viable solutions.
• Ability to navigate component and assembly drawings and identify parts in a Bill of Material (BOM).
• Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude.
• Ability to do operations with Microsoft office tools like Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to be a cross-functional team leader with good interpersonal skills.
• Due to nature of working candidates need to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.

• Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
• Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
• Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.

Location: Greenville, SC (No remote)

Travel: Minimal < 5%

Compensation type: Salary Exempt with a competitive package dependent on level of experience
