Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized patient care to women during childbirth, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive birthing experiences. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care throughout the labor and postpartum process.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor laboring patients' condition, progress, and FHR to ensure safe delivery.
- Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, following clinical guidelines.
- Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or complications during labor and delivery.
Qualifications:
- Active NYS RN license required.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records highly preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or active enrollment in a BSN program preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, compassionate communication, and teamwork.
