Job Overview Customer Success & Technical Ownership

Establish a strong technical relationship with assigned enterprise customers and understand their business objectives, architecture, use cases, and deployment timelines. Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer lifecycle—from initial deployment through production and steady-state operations. Partner with TAMs, Solution Engineers, Sales, and Professional Services to establish a clear understanding of customer requirements and success criteria. Proactively identify technical risks, deployment gaps, adoption challenges, and opportunities to improve customer outcomes. Maintain regular customer engagement to understand evolving requirements, provide guidance, and ensure continued product adoption. Advocate for the customer internally and communicate recurring product challenges and enhancement opportunities to Product and Engineering teams.

Distributed Database & Solution Engineering

Understand complex distributed database architectures and how they integrate with enterprise applications and data platforms. Work with customers to design and implement solutions aligned with their application, data, performance, and scalability requirements. Support database deployments across cloud and hybrid environments. Help customers evaluate and implement appropriate approaches for data ingestion, CDC, replication, high availability, disaster recovery, backup/restore, and observability. Analyze application and database architectures to identify performance, scalability, reliability, and operational considerations. Develop technical recommendations and implementation approaches that customers can execute in production environments.

Database Performance & Troubleshooting

Troubleshoot complex database and application issues across production and non-production environments. Perform SQL query analysis, optimization, and query tuning. Diagnose performance issues involving queries, data distribution, workload patterns, resource utilization, networking, and application integration. Work with customer engineering teams to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Serve as the first technical point of escalation for customer issues and coordinate with Engineering, Product, Support, and Professional Services when deeper expertise is required. Ensure customer issues are driven to resolution within agreed timelines and expectations.

Cloud & Data Ecosystem

Work with technologies commonly found in modern enterprise data environments, including: SQL and relational databases, distributed databases and NoSQL technologies, Kafka and other data-ingestion technologies, cloud storage such as S3, CDC and replication technologies, Kubernetes and containerized environments, monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog and Grafana, public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, networking, security, encryption, backup, HA, and DR technologies.

Customer Enablement Educate customers on product capabilities, architecture, best practices, and operational considerations. Conduct technical workshops, knowledge-transfer sessions, and enablement activities as required. Create high-quality technical documentation, solution guidance, and other customer-facing technical assets. Help customer teams become self-sufficient in operating and optimizing their SingleStore environment. Identify opportunities to increase adoption and expand the use of the platform based on customer requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with TAMs, Solution Engineers, Sales, Professional Services, Support, Product, and Engineering to deliver a consistent customer experience. Coordinate internal resources to resolve complex customer issues and deliver against customer commitments. Provide structured customer feedback to Product and Engineering teams. Contribute to internal best practices and reusable technical assets based on customer engagements.

Mandatory Skills

• 6+ years of experience in customer-facing technical, consulting, technical support, solutions engineering, or customer success roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with distributed databases and complex data platforms.
• Deep understanding of relational databases, SQL, database architecture, and query optimization.
• Strong hands-on SQL experience, including query analysis and performance tuning.
• Experience working with complex enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of Linux and cloud environments.
• Experience with several technologies across the modern data ecosystem, such as: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, or other relational databases, NoSQL / Key-Value databases, Kafka, Cloud storage such as S3, CDC and replication, Kubernetes, Observability / monitoring platforms, Backup, restore, HA, and DR.
• Understanding of cloud networking, security, encryption, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of Python or another scripting language is desirable.

• Proven experience working directly with enterprise customers, preferably in international/global environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical customer escalations and drive issues through resolution.
• Ability to translate complex technical problems into clear recommendations and actionable plans.
• Strong consulting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both front-line technical teams and senior/executive stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across multiple internal teams.
• Strong customer-first mindset and ownership of customer outcomes.
