NOTE: This is a 1-year, Fixed-Term position. Are you a senior analyst who is fluent in how modern AI gets built and adopted? Join Stanford’s Enterprise Technology team (AI Catalyst) as the connective tissue between business stakeholders and the engineering teams delivering enterprise AI. You will shape and document requirements for AI and GenAI initiatives, translate ambiguous business needs into clear, buildable specifications, and help drive delivery across the rollout of enterprise platforms (Claude, OpenAI/ChatGPT Enterprise, Gemini) and a portfolio of high-stakes AI applications. This is a senior, applied business analysis role. You will not build models, but you will understand AI concepts deeply enough to scope feasible use cases, set realistic expectations, write strong requirements, and guide solutions through delivery, testing, and adoption. Approved budgeted annual salary for this role: $156,505 - $183,920 Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Enterprise AI Delivery: Experience delivering AI/GenAI projects in a large, complex organization, ideally including platform rollouts and adoption efforts. AI Quality & Governance: Familiarity with prompt engineering, evaluation of AI outputs (rubrics, accuracy/quality, hallucination checks), and AI guardrails, privacy, and governance practices. Agentic & Interoperability Awareness: Awareness of agent interoperability standards (e.g., A2A) and MCP-based integrations between AI agents and enterprise tools. Agile & BA Tooling: Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet. Process & Data Skills: Process mapping (e.g., BPMN) and comfort with data analysis (SQL, dashboards) to support decisions. Change & Training: Experience with change management, user enablement, and training program design. Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Coordinating across multiple stakeholders and external vendors. Higher Education Context: Experience in higher education or similarly complex, decentralized environments. Responsibilities Core Duties Lead the elicitation and gathering of business and systemrequirements. Analyze, design and implement complex management informationsystems. Lead efforts to ensure that information systems support theorganizational mission and objectives and coordinate the process ofdefining, investigating and solving problems related to business systemsand special projects. Manage, from a client business perspective, the requirements forrelated systems projects; ensure a high level of client satisfaction bymonitoring the delivery of ongoing information systems to theorganization. Lead and coordinate projects to assist business owners inevaluating the potential for automating existing or proposed workfunctions or processes and assess the feasibility of creating ormodifying systems to meet user requirements. Analyze new business requirements, system functionality, currentsystem use and user needs; specify functional designs and work withdevelopers and analysts to implement. Develop system design for new or revised business systems;document and analyze input/output requirements, procedural flow betweendepartments, operational audits and organizational structures. May plan, direct, coordinate, monitor and review the work ofothers during all phases of the project team's work and coordinate theplanning, development and presentation of training for users of businesssystems. Manage external vendor or partner relationships. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and eight years relevant experience or acombination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes,and workflow. Current knowledge of rapidly changing computertechnology. Extensive experience with enterprise applications andunderstanding of database driven applications. Ability to design and document complex business systems. Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability toapproach problems logically and systematically. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. Knowledge of principles and techniques used in conductingmanagement studies and in systems analysis. Project management skills as needed. Skill in conducting interviews and facilitating groupmeetings. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources bycommunicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertiseand business needs.
