Step into an impactful opportunity supporting secondary students as a contract Occupational Therapist working onsite within a dynamic educational setting near Lakewood, WA. This full-time role starts as soon as possible and extends through June 23, 2027. You’ll work a 37.5-hour week on campus, directly supporting a diverse caseload of secondary students and providing vital supervision for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
Ideal candidates are passionate about fostering student growth and maximizing independence within an educational environment. Your expertise will play a key role in helping students reach their academic and functional potential.
Qualifications:
- Current Washington State Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Fingerprints cleared through OSPI prior to start
- Experience working in school-based OT preferred
- Ability to supervise and mentor a COTA
- Knowledge of IEP process and familiarity with secondary student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group OT services to secondary students onsite
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEP goals, and document progress
- Supervise and support a COTA in daily responsibilities
- Provide consultative services and collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
- Promote student independence, participation, and engagement in school activities
- Maintain detailed records in compliance with state and district requirements
