Job Description

An elite, global professional services firm known for handling high-stakes litigation is seeking a sharp, analytical Data Steward to take complete ownership of its unified matter intelligence platform. As the organization consolidates its historical casework and client pitch records into a single centralized database, this strategic role serves as the essential bridge between technology infrastructure and business development. This role can be based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C., with a hybrid working arrangement requiring just one day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n

Reporting to the Marketing Technology Manager, the Data Steward will work closely with business development, marketing, and technology teams to:

\n

\n
• Data Management & Governance: Oversee the quality, integrity, and consistency of the firm's centralized experience database, ensuring matter records, client information, and representative credentials are accurately maintained.
\n
• Data Cleansing & Migration: Support large-scale data cleansing, record standardization, historical migrations, and bulk imports to ensure information is structured consistently across the platform.
\n
• Database Auditing: Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve duplicate records, update legacy matter classifications, and ensure appropriate client confidentiality and access restrictions are maintained.
\n
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business development and marketing teams to identify data gaps, respond to complex information requests, and enrich matter profiles for use in client-facing materials.
\n
• Platform Optimization: Collaborate with technology teams and external vendors to evaluate platform enhancements, improve data workflows, and explore opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tagging and classification tools.
\n
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline data management processes and improve the usability and accuracy of the firm's experience repository.

Candidate Profile

\n

\n

The ideal candidate will have experience in data stewardship, database management, marketing operations, experience management, or a related field. Experience within a law firm, partnership, or professional services environment would be advantageous, particularly where the role involves managing confidential client or matter information.

Technical Skills & Experience

\n

\n

Essential:

\n

\n
• Salesforce: Hands-on experience managing, maintaining, or improving data within Salesforce.
\n
• Alternative technical experience: Candidates without Salesforce experience should demonstrate strong SQL skills or relevant hands-on experience with CRM, experience management, or comparable database platforms.
\n
• Data quality and integrity: Experience with data cleansing, record standardization, database maintenance, and identifying or resolving data inconsistencies.
\n

Desirable:

\n

\n
• Data visualization and reporting: Familiarity with Tableau or Power BI.
\n
• Data transformation and analytics: Exposure to Alteryx or similar tools.
\n
• AI and automation: Awareness of AI-enabled data classification, tagging, or workflow automation.
\n
