Warehouse Distribution Manager

The Warehouse/Distribution Manager's job is done for the purpose of performing warehousing duties of loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory and maintaining the warehouse; transporting orders of equipment, materials and supplies; supervising the warehouse and warehouse employees; and ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner.

Supervisory responsibilities include warehouse workers, distribution drivers and helpers, shipping and receiving.

Duties and responsibilities include ensuring actions are in concert with the board policies, participating in job training and professional growth opportunities, performing other related duties as assigned, cleaning warehouse, conducting physical annual inventories, directing movement of materials, identifying equipment, supplies and materials to be procured, inspecting warehouse equipment, maintaining documents, files, and records, monitoring warehouse operations, overseeing delivery and movement of all mail, preparing written materials, recommending movement and/or disposal of moveable equipment or supplies, responding to calls, concerns and/or complaints, scheduling deliveries, stocking equipment, materials and supplies, supervising warehouse personnel, and coordinating pick-up and delivery of items provided by local non-profits.

Qualifications include knowledge of modern warehousing and supply systems, materials handling and storage, receiving, inspecting and follow up, materials distribution, budget preparation, and personnel policies and practices. Skills include using materials handling equipment, operating standard office equipment, performing basic math, reading technical information, composing documents, and facilitating group discussions.
