Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity spans from August 12, 2026, to June 15, 2027, with onsite teaching in a welcoming elementary school setting. You’ll play a pivotal role in guiding a dedicated Life Skills classroom, fostering growth, and empowering students to achieve their highest potential.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification and state licensure (or eligibility for WA certification)
• Previous experience with elementary-aged students preferred
• Strong background in supporting children with intellectual and developmental disabilities or life skills needs
• Excellent classroom management and adaptive instructional skills
• Compassion, creativity, and flexibility in teaching approaches
• Collaborative attitude for working with school teams, parents, and service providers

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the Life Skills classroom
• Design engaging, functional lessons that support students’ academic, social, and behavioral development
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to meet each student’s unique learning needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, support staff, and related service providers
• Maintain open, ongoing communication with families regarding student progress
• Foster an inclusive, safe, and respectful classroom environment
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings
