BUS DRIVER

Job Summary Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K‑8 district. We share the yard with the high school bus service. The district transports 2,500 students for home‑to‑school, mid‑day, and therapy runs. The fleet consists of over 30 buses, 2 cars and 3 van routes. Operations cover Fallbrook and two schools on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base. Responsibilities Drive assigned school or transportation routes according to the schedule. Board and discharge student passengers. Transport students, staff and chaperones on field trips, athletic activities and other special trips. Enforce district transportation policies and maintain discipline on buses. Position Details Application Deadline: Until Filled Length of Work Year: Student Year Employee Calendar Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4 hours/day, 5 days/week (hours vary) Benefits: Health and Welfare, paid sick leave, vacation, and 14 paid holidays per year. Qualifications & Requirements High‑school graduate or equivalent. Dependable work history and good driving record. Ability to qualify for district vehicle insurance. Valid California driver’s license, Class B. California School Bus Driver’s Certificate. Current Medical Certificate (MEC). Current DMV printout (H‑6), within the past 90 days. Required Documents (PDF) Certificate copy of California School Bus Certificate. Current Medical Certificate (MEC). DMV printout of H‑6, recent within 90 days. Letter of recommendation (one, within last year, preferably from most recent employer). Resume. Application Directions This position is open to all qualified candidates. After submitting a completed application, the applicant must attend a mandatory written test every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office, Human Resources Department, 321 Iowa Street, Fallbrook CA 92028. Candidates not completing the test will not be considered. Employment will be offered on the condition of satisfactory completion of a pre‑employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and FBI, and a current negative T.B. test or chest X‑ray.
