Step into a rewarding contract-based opportunity to support a local school community with your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This immediate start position covers a leave of absence and is expected to extend until March 2027, giving you a chance to make a significant impact over multiple academic years.
You’ll serve a manageable caseload of about 26 students, providing vital speech and language services in a structured, supportive environment. The assignment is full-time, spanning five days a week, making it ideal for those seeking consistency in their schedule. You'll enjoy mostly standardized daily hours, with slight flexibility available—especially on Tuesdays, where the ending time can be adjusted to accommodate your preferences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid SLP license in the state of Illinois
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience in an educational or school-based setting strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt to evolving student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to a caseload of approximately 26 students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success
- Complete progress monitoring, required documentation, and assessments
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
