Schedule: Night shift, 19:00-07:30, 3x12 or 4x12 hours per week, includes 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period

Highlights:

• 34-bed medical/surgical unit with telemetry capabilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-7
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Cerner EMR system
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

Requirements:

• Active RN license (West Virginia or Compact state; pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) through American Heart Association
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 or similar
• Permanent address must be 75+ miles from the facility
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Reliable attendance is essential – facility expects professional commitment to scheduled shifts

Clinical Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Wound care and wound vac management
• High flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP management, and non-invasive airway management
• Care for patients with CVA, renal failure, and diverse acute medical conditions
• IV starts and maintenance, chest tube management, and surgical drain care
• Tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, and PCA pump administration
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis management
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)

Approximately 8 hours of non-billable modules must be completed prior to start date. Full file due by noon Thursday prior to orientation, which is held every other Monday.
