American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Sanford Federal, Inc. seeks qualified ASL Interpreters to provide interpretation services for hearing-impaired Veterans and employees at the Phoenix VA Healthcare System facilities. Interpreters will translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa in medical appointments, employee training sessions, and other situations as needed.

Schedule:
On-call, as-needed basis. Interpreters must be available on short notice, within 24 hours or less in some cases. Minimum 30 minutes, maximum 8 hours per day. Some early morning, evening, and weekend hours required.
Responsibilities:
•Provide accurate and complete real-time interpretation between ASL and spoken English during medical appointments, training sessions, and other activities.
•Arrive 15 minutes early to review assignment materials when possible.•Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
•Adhere to RID Code of Ethics and standards of conduct.
Requirements:
•Fluent communication skills in both American Sign Language and English
•RID Certification required
•1+ years recent experience in medical or community interpreting settings
•Ability to interpret complex medical terminology
•Clear background check and security clearance
•Reliable transportation
