Job Description

Are you a hands-on HR leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys partnering closely with operations leaders? Join Louis Dreyfus Company as an HR Manager supporting our Claypool soybean processing facility, where you'll play a key role in driving people strategies that support plant performance, employee engagement, and workforce stability.

As the primary HR business partner for the Claypool site, you'll work alongside plant leadership to attract, develop, and retain talent while fostering a positive, safe, and productive work environment. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on employee relations, labor relations, talent management, workforce planning, performance management, and compliance.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being embedded in the business, building strong relationships on the plant floor, and helping leaders navigate workforce challenges while supporting operational success.

What You'll Do

• Partner closely with plant leadership to support business objectives through effective people strategies.
• Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers at the Claypool facility.
• Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
• Support the site's unionized workforce through labor relations activities, grievance management, contract interpretation, and collective bargaining agreement administration.
• Lead recruiting efforts for the facility, helping attract and retain top talent across operations, maintenance, leadership, and professional positions.
• Support workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
• Manage employee leave programs, accommodations, and compliance with employment laws and company policies.
• Partner with leaders to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
• Serve as the site's subject matter expert for HR systems, payroll-related processes, and workforce administration.
• Support internships, trainee programs, and community recruitment initiatives that help build future talent pipelines.

Qualifications

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

Basic qualification:

· Bachelor's Degree majoring social science field (psychology, communications, etc.)

Preferred qualification:

· Bachelor's degree majoring in Human Resource or similar

· Master's Degree in business related field

· Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, and/or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification

· Member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

Basic qualification:

· Five to Eight (5-8) years of progressive Human Resources experience

· 3-5 years of plant manufacturing experience

· 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment

Preferred qualification:

· Previous experience supporting unionized, and multiple, locations helpful

· Previous supervisory experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)

Basic qualifications:

· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

· Demonstrated ability to develop strong, positive relationships with both internal and external clients.

· High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation

· Ability to represent the Company in professional meetings and recruitment events

· Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

· Attention to detail

· Self-directed and motivated

· Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ie. EEO, ADA, ADEA, Title VII, OSHA, wage & hour laws).

Additional Information

Preferred:

· Working knowledge of Workday HRIS software and Kronos timekeeping software

· Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine.

Working Conditions

· Typical office environment. Occasional travel to industrial locations may be required. When traveling, possible exposure to industrial operations areas that are dusty, noisy or have extreme variations in temperature. Extensions of regular working hour are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies.

Decision Making/Accountability

· Provides support on a full range of issues. Consults with Senior Human Resources Manager on issues concerning employee relations, performance management, policy questions as necessary. Employs a broad understanding of employment laws and regulations to perform job requirements and advise others. Assumes responsibility for recruiting of personnel and will communicate Company Human Resources policies as required. Utilizes judgment and discretion in handling confidential employee issues or questions. Partners with the facilities and HR team to support the implementation of company-wide Human Resource projects through the assigned locations.
