Work Environment\n

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work remotely, allowing for flexibility in managing a healthy work-life balance while remaining an integral part of our team. Although the primary work will be conducted online, the candidate will also collaborate with colleagues in our outpatient office setting, participating in team meetings and case discussions. The work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some adjusted hours as needed to accommodate patient requirements.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that consider the diverse cultural backgrounds of patients, helping to create personalized and effective treatment plans.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adapting methodologies to fit the specific needs of individuals and families.

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions focused on a wide array of mental health challenges, fostering resilience and growth.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and ancillary staff to coordinate comprehensive care for our patients.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention during mental health emergencies, demonstrating the ability to stabilize acute situations effectively.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health topics, available treatment options, and community resources to support ongoing recovery.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of patient interactions following all relevant legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

• Engage in regular case conferences and training sessions focused on cultural competency and continuing education, staying informed about the latest developments in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work with a broad spectrum of clients, including individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. Our patient groups often consist of those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and other mental health issues exacerbated by their unique cultural experiences. Counselors are expected to be adept at navigating the complexities that arise from these diverse backgrounds, providing care that respects and integrates cultural contexts into therapeutic practices.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Holder of a current, valid license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or equivalent.

• Experience in a mental health setting, particularly with diverse populations, is preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in outpatient settings, particularly serving multicultural communities.

• Proficiency in therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or trauma-focused therapies.

• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and protocols.

• Experience contributing to or leading training initiatives focused on cultural competence in mental health.

Compensation and Benefits\n
