ASU - Prescriber (Per Diem)

Our Acute Stabilization Unit (ASU) in Providence, RI, is seeking a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (PCNS) to perform crisis evaluations, prescribe psychotropic medications, and facilitate dispositions to higher levels of care when needed. The ASU is a peaceful place to take the steps needed for recovery. It is our goal to ensure client stability, provide seamless transfer to ongoing outpatient levels of care, and reduce unnecessary use of hospital-based services. The PCNS participates in treatment planning meetings with team members and coordinates care with treatment. The PCNS will work with a collaborating staff psychiatrist within the agency.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the mental health and substance abuse field, as well as possess the ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Education/Licensing : RI License as an advanced practice registered nurse with a psych/mental health specialty. Current DEA license.
