Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physical Therapist, you will:

• Direct physical therapy treatment focusing on preventing disability, relieving pain, and restoring mobility by developing and executing personalized treatment plans.
• Collaborate closely with Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective implementation of care plans while offering supervision as required by state law.
• Evaluate patients' physical condition through a variety of assessments, including diagnostic tests and functional ability evaluations.
• Assess patients' home environments, recommending necessary modifications to enhance safety and ease of rehabilitation.
• Deliver skilled physical therapy services in accordance with physician prescriptions, including administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, traction, and other modalities.
• Maintain accurate clinical records such as initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries to track patient progress and inform ongoing treatment.
• Engage with interdisciplinary teams to discuss patient care strategies and participate in case conferences aimed at holistic treatment approaches.
• Provide education to patients and families about therapy devices and overall care programs to enhance understanding and compliance with treatments.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of therapies by staying current on best practices and sharing insights with colleagues.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's or higher degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current PT licensure in good standing for the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
