Robotic Welder

Description OVERVIEW Cadrex is searching for a Robotic Weld Operator II who is responsible for operating, monitoring, and performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance on robotic welding equipment. This position requires a solid understanding of welding processes, quality standards, and robotic equipment operation in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has prior experience with robotic weld cells and demonstrates the ability to work independently while meeting production and quality requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operate and oversee robotic welding cells, ensuring parts are loaded, cycled, and unloaded properly Perform inspections of welds using visual methods and measurement tools to verify quality against specifications Adjust welding parameters and perform basic programming adjustments as needed to maintain weld quality Identify, troubleshoot, and report equipment malfunctions and quality issues Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, changing consumables, and verifying fixture alignment Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions Document production and inspection data accurately Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement Adhere to safety protocols and participate in 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives Provide guidance and training to Robotic Weld Operator I personnel as needed Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in a manufacturing, production, assembly, machine operation, or similar industrial environment Experience performing basic inspections and measurements Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with manufacturing equipment Ability to follow written work instructions and established procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment Reliable work history and dependable attendance Effective communication and teamwork skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience operating robotic welding cells Experience working with robotic welding equipment (FANUC, ABB, OTC, or similar systems) Familiarity with manufacturing quality standards and inspection processes Ability to read blueprints, prints, or manufacturing drawings Basic experience making robotic parameter adjustments or setup changes The following qualifications are helpful but are not required for consideration: MIG or TIG welding experience Welding certifications Traditional welder experience Advanced robotic programming experience Formal welding education EDUCATION High School Diploma LOCATION Onsite; Bloomingdale, IL SCHEDULE 1st Shift TOTAL COMPENSATION INCLUDES Health/dental/vision coverage Employer-paid and supplemental life insurance Short- and long-term disability insurance Generous paid time off and holiday pay Monthly remote work stipend (for remote employees who qualify) 401(k) investment plan, with an employer match of up to 4% Education support program Safety eyeglasses/shoe reimbursement Referral bonuses Bonus plan for all full-time employees PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear.
