We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and equipment across our facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation of a wide range of electronic infrastructure while providing technical leadership and guidance to team members.Work Arrangement – On-siteDEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCESAdvanced technical training, certification, or licensure in electronics or electrical workExperience working in a facilities, healthcare, or institutional environmentPrior experience leading or training othersMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training - Work requires a background in Electronics normally acquired through a two-year Associate degree program in Electronics to become familiar with electronic equipment and experimental devices and apparatus common to an electronics repair facility.Experience – Four (4) years of related experience are required in lieu of an associate degree in Electronics. Work requires three years' related experience as an electronics technician to acquire competency in applying electronics principles. Required SkillsStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentationProficiency with testing equipment and hand/power toolsKnowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standardsKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, assemble, test, and maintain electronic systems, equipment, and wiring using hand and power toolsDiagnose and repair malfunctioning systems, components, and equipment using specialized testing devices (e.g., voltmeters, oscilloscopes)Inspect systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and compliance issues with applicable codes and standardsPlan and execute the layout and installation of wiring, fixtures, and electronic equipment based on specifications and safety requirementsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine system configurationsConnect wiring to control boards, relays, and other electronic componentsPerform repairs and replacements of wiring, equipment, and fixtures as neededProvide input to management regarding equipment condition and potential safety risksUse a wide range of testing and diagnostic tools to ensure system functionality and safetyMaintain accurate records, complete reports, and manage work orders within the CMMS systemAssist with estimating materials, labor, and project requirementsProvide technical guidance and training to junior staff or team membersRespond to facility needs and assist during emergencies, including supporting critical equipment and systemsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork may include climbing ladders, working on scaffolds or roofs, and accessing confined or elevated spacesFrequent use of tools and equipment, including lifting and moving heavy materialsMay involve pulling cables, installing conduit, and performing physically demanding tasksChoose Duke.
