This position involves providing specialized nursing care within a fast-paced intermediate cardiac step-down unit. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care to individuals recovering from cardiac procedures and managing complex cardiac conditions. Job Details Certifications, Education, and Experience: WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS certifications; Associate Degree or Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred; 1 year of experience in cardiac-related units such as Cardiac Step-Down Unit (SDU), Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU); minimum 2 years of experience in IMC, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Telemetry required; must be able to pass EKG test within the first week of hire. Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, 36 hours per week. Position Responsibilities: Providing age-specific, comprehensive nursing care to cardiac patients, including post-operative care for CABG, valve procedures, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, and post-procedure cath patients. Managing medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips. Additional Information: Unit features 44 beds with high patient turnover, typical patient ratio of 1:4, and is characterized by a fast-paced environment. Required scrubs are permitted in any color. The role involves float requirements to all inpatient units as needed, and adherence to infection control policies, including mask-wearing during flu season for those declining vaccines. Submission Requirements: Candidates must have recent EPIC charting experience and at least one completed travel assignment.
