General Manager

Gulf Distributing Holdings, LLC

The General Manager will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee all sales and operations activities at the location they are assigned, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost‑effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization, as well as developing and implementing the overall sales strategy and overseeing its execution in tandem with the Executive Team and SVPs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties/Responsibilities Overall Operations Management: Overseeing all aspects of the beverage distribution company's operations, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and delivery. Strategic Planning: Participating in strategic planning with Executive Team and SVPs to develop and execute strategic plans and objectives for the company, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Sales and Revenue Growth: Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and increase market share, including identifying new business opportunities and fostering relationships with key customers. Team Leadership: Managing and leading a team of employees, including sales and operations managers, and administrative personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and employee satisfaction. Supply Chain Management: Working with Supply Chain Department to ensure efficiency of the supply chain process, from sourcing and procurement to inventory management and order fulfillment, to overseeing timely and efficient delivery of products to customers. Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, addressing their needs and inquiries, and resolving any issues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Financial Management: Monitoring and managing the company's financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis, to achieve financial targets and maximize profitability. Safety and Training: Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including safety protocols, food safety regulations, and licensing requirements; overseeing completion of job and safety training of all team members. Performance Monitoring: Developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track operational performance, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes. Market Analysis: Conducting market research and analysis to identify market trends, competition, and customer preferences, using insights to inform business decisions and develop targeted marketing strategies. Continuous Improvement: Staying updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer service, and overall business performance. Willingly completes other duties as assigned to meet the strategic and operational and financial objectives of GDH. Supervision Directs recruitment and training for management-level staff in the location. Oversees the daily workflow of the location. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Uses strengths-based supervision so each person supervised comes to know his/her own strengths and weaknesses and uses strengths in day-to-day work. Ensures that each employee supervised has opportunities for personal and professional growth. Provides clear expectations for each supervised staff. Models adherence to GDH’s Mission and Values and holds staff accountable for knowing and practicing the values. Completes coaching regularly of supervised staff and annual a performance evaluation on due date. Provides direct supervision to the Sales Managers and Operations Managers at the location, and indirect supervision of Warehouse Managers, Delivery Managers, and other sales and operations staff at the location, as assigned. Learning Organization and Staff Training Actively participates in internal and external training opportunities. Exhibits enthusiasm for learning and personal growth. Community Partnership Represents GDH Mission and Values at work and within the community at all times. Technology Effectively uses office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners), a personal computer and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer. Efficiently uses operations management software, including VIP. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Engineering, or another industry‑related field required; MBA preferred. At least 10‑years of industry‑related experience including three years in upper management required. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with transportation management software. Prior use of VIP or similar software package. Highly organized, detail oriented. Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen. Demonstrated ability to Work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community. Work effectively as a member of the leadership team. Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media. Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision. Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously. WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS Frequently (50%+ of time) required to walk and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Frequently (50%+ of time) lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Frequently (50%+ of time) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception. Occasionally (less than 25% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Frequently (more than 50% of time) travel throughout the GDH sites. Occasional (less than 25% of time) weekend and/or overtime work, primarily at start‑up or when taking on new business.
