Business Manager
Duties
Major duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Maintains and improves systems of delivering health care by developing programs and policies, and improving utilization of resources
- Develops goals and objectives for assigned services and translates these into specific actions and policies
- Analyzes the need for and facilitates the purchase of equipment and expendable supplies, overseeing the use of funds allocated to the control points
- Assists in budget projections for assigned sections and submits staffing requests to Executive Resources Board for approval to hire additional personnel and fill vacancies
- Coordinates education/training needs of the staff, and allocates budget amounts; serves as liaison to the chief for approving travel/training and per diem funds
- Assigns, directs, and reviews work of program support staff
- Evaluates work performance and develops performance standards
- Meets the needs of customers while supporting VA missions
- Consistently communicates and treats customers in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner
- Develops annual budget plans and conducts periodic reviews of expenditures in accordance with VHA and medical center guidelines
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Telework: This position may be authorized for AD-HOC telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
