Electronics Lab Technician

Akkodis is seeking an Electronics Lab Technician for a Contract job with a client in Irvine, CA . The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics laboratory operations, PCB assembly and rework, functional testing, and prototype development, along with strong troubleshooting and soldering skills.

Rate Range: $34/hour to $36/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Electronics Lab Technician Job Responsibilities Include:

• Support receiving, shipping, inventory management, and material handling activities while ensuring parts and assemblies are accurately tracked and available for engineering and production requirements.
• Perform PCB assembly modifications, component rework, soldering, de-soldering, and blue wire modifications in accordance with IPC-610 Class 3 workmanship standards.
• Build wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical interconnect systems following IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements and engineering specifications.
• Assemble electronic control units (ECUs), engineering prototypes, and custom test fixtures based on engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

• An Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience working in electronics laboratories, engineering development environments, product validation labs, or electronics manufacturing operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with soldering, de-soldering, PCB modifications, component-level rework, and electronic assembly activities.
• Experience using laboratory equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power supplies, and related diagnostic instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting electric vehicle, automotive electronics, battery systems, power electronics, or advanced mobility technology development programs.
• Demonstrated ability to solder fine-pitch integrated circuits, 0402 surface-mount components, and other miniature electronic components requiring precision workmanship.
• Familiarity with Jira or related project tracking and issue management tools used in engineering and product development environments.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project for documentation, reporting, and project coordination.
• Industry certifications such as IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, IPC-7721, or J-STD-001 are highly desirable and considered a strong asset.

Pay Details: $34.00 to $36.00 per hour
