Haven Treatment Center is actively hiring  Washington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSWs) to join our growing behavioral health team serving  children and adolescents ages 5–17 .

Position Summary

The Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker provides clinical assessment, psychotherapy, treatment planning, crisis intervention, family engagement, case consultation, care coordination, and discharge planning for children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment.

The LICSW works closely with psychiatrists, nurses, behavioral health professionals, case managers, families, guardians, schools, referral partners, and community providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, strong documentation skills, professional accountability, and the ability to work effectively with high-acuity pediatric behavioral health populations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive behavioral health, psychosocial, and clinical assessments.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy as clinically appropriate.
• Develop individualized and measurable treatment plans.
• Complete ongoing reassessments and update treatment goals based on client progress.
• Provide trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate clinical interventions.
• Assess suicide risk, self-harm risk, aggression, elopement risk, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and other safety concerns.
• Develop and participate in safety planning and crisis stabilization interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention and clinical support during behavioral health emergencies.
• Collaborate with psychiatry, nursing, medical providers, therapists, behavioral health professionals, and case management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case conferences.
• Engage parents, guardians, caregivers, foster families, and authorized representatives in treatment.
• Facilitate family therapy and family education when clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate care with hospitals, emergency departments, schools, community providers, managed care organizations, and child-serving agencies.
• Support discharge planning and transition to the least restrictive clinically appropriate level of care.
• Identify barriers to discharge and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve them.
• Complete progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records.
• Document medical necessity, treatment interventions, client response, progress, risk factors, and clinical recommendations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, objective, and audit-ready clinical documentation.
• Participate in utilization review and authorization processes when required.
• Maintain compliance with confidentiality requirements, HIPAA, professional ethics, organizational policies, and applicable Washington State requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement, clinical review, staff development, and performance improvement activities.
• Provide clinical consultation and professional guidance within the LICSW’s lawful scope of practice.
• Maintain appropriate therapeutic and professional boundaries.
• Immediately communicate significant changes in client condition or safety concerns to appropriate members of the treatment team.
• Perform additional clinical responsibilities consistent with licensure, competency, and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
• Current and active  Washington State Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) credential in good standing.
• Ability to independently practice within the scope authorized by Washington State.
• Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary behavioral health treatment team.
• Ability to work with children, adolescents, and families experiencing complex behavioral health needs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to complete required credentialing, employment screenings, orientation, and ongoing training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric or adolescent behavioral health experience.
• Residential treatment facility experience.
• Psychiatric hospital or inpatient behavioral health experience.
• Crisis stabilization experience.
• Experience working with high-acuity behavioral health populations.
• Experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harm, aggression, and behavioral dysregulation.
• Family therapy experience.
• Experience working with children involved in foster care or child welfare systems.
• Experience with evidence-based behavioral health interventions.
• Experience working on an interdisciplinary psychiatric treatment team.
• Experience with utilization review and managed care authorization processes.
• Strong knowledge of medical necessity documentation.
• Experience with discharge planning and community resource coordination.
