Step into a Day in the Life

At 7:00am in our Auburn, WA facility, you open MCOSMOS and begin transforming a complex aerospace drawing into a repeatable, trustworthy CMM program. You create alignments that make sense, select the right probing strategies, and fixture the part in a way that guarantees stability and accuracy. By mid-morning, your first article is running, GD&T callouts are verified, and Quality and Production are relying on your data to release the job. The afternoon brings troubleshooting a measurement variation with a machinist, capturing a clean report, and checking a fixture concept for the next run—then documenting everything for complete traceability.

Role Snapshot

• Location: Auburn, WA (on-site)
• Job Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm
• Pay: $36.00 – $45.00 per hour

What You Will Own

• Author, validate, and maintain CMM programs to confirm conformance to drawings, GD&T, and customer specs for precision aerospace parts and assemblies.
• Execute CMM inspections, dimensional layouts, and AS9102 First Article Inspections; analyze results and deliver clear, actionable reports.
• Design robust alignments, probing paths, and scanning strategies, and influence fixture concepts for repeatable measurement.
• Set up and fixture intricate geometries and orientations to ensure reliable verification.
• Partner with Production and Quality to troubleshoot CMM issues, investigate variation, and drive dimensional root-cause analysis.
• Maintain programs, records, and related quality documentation to keep audits straightforward and accurate.

What You Bring

• 2+ years programming and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).
• Hands-on experience with MCOSMOS or similar platforms (PC-DMIS, Calypso).
• Strong command of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 with the ability to interpret complex aerospace drawings and CAD models.
• Expertise creating datum structures, alignments, probe paths, and scan strategies.
• Competent with inspection tools: micrometers, calipers, height and bore gauges, and more.
• Clear, concise communication with machinists, programmers, engineering, and Quality.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High School Diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Preferred

• Background in aerospace or precision machining environments.
• Direct experience performing AS9102 First Article Inspections and reporting.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO quality systems.
