Position Information Working Title Homelessness Prevention Manager Department Ctr on Children Families & the Law-1082 Requisition Number S_260680 Posting Open Date 08/21/2026 Application Review Date: 08/31/2026 Open Until Filled Yes Description of Work Homelessness Prevention Manager will support the planning, launch, implementation, and ongoing operation of Nebraska’s Right at Home homelessness prevention initiative. The position will coordinate project timelines, provider readiness, community based service HUB technical assistance, service coordination, collaborate on HMIS operational workflows, payment processing via external common fund holder, evaluation support, and supervision of assigned Right at Home staff. The position will work with UNL - CCFL Community Services leadership, Continuum of Care partners, participating HUBs, HMIS and Coordinated Entry staff, the Common Fund Holder, public-sector and philanthropic partners, Right at Home technical assistance partners, and evaluation partners. The position requires practical planning ability, disciplined follow-through, strong communication, careful documentation, and professional judgment in a complex, multi-partner implementation environment. About Us The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center on Children, Families, and the Law works with public systems, nonprofit providers, and community partners to strengthen services for children, families, and vulnerable populations. Within CCFL , the Community Services Division supports homelessness response system planning, HMIS , Coordinated Entry, Continuum of Care work, technical assistance, data-informed planning, and implementation support across Nebraska. See Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, sociology, public health, human services, nonprofit management, planning, community development, research administration, or a related field and two years of experience in project coordination, program implementation, homelessness response, housing services, homelessness prevention, housing stabilization, human services, nonprofit administration, public systems work, or a closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of housing instability, homelessness response systems, housing stabilization, or related human services systems. Experience supporting multi-step projects involving timelines, meetings, documentation, task tracking, partner communication, and follow-up. Strong written and verbal communication skills strong organizational skills ability to maintain confidentiality ability to work professionally with nonprofit providers, public agencies, funders, researchers, community partners, and internal staff. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in public administration, social work, sociology, public health, planning, community development, research administration, business administration, or a related field. Direct experience with homelessness prevention, targeted prevention, diversion, eviction prevention, flexible financial assistance, housing stabilization, or service coordination for households at risk of homelessness. Experience with Continuums of Care, Coordinated Entry, HMIS , Emergency Solutions Grant programs, CoC-funded programs, low-barrier service models, rural or statewide service systems, multi-agency implementation, evaluation-supported program models, randomized controlled trial implementation, fidelity monitoring, grant-funded projects, or university-based project Ideal Candidate The position requires a person who can support practical planning, advance implementation in a timely manner, and work effectively with senior leaders, funders, researchers, public officials, providers, HUB staff, and community partners. The candidate must understand the difference between coordination and decision-making authority, recognize when a question can be resolved operationally, and know when an issue must be elevated to CCFL Community Services leadership or other formal decision-makers.
