Surgical Tech Coordinator

To provide safe and effective patient care, through the performance of specific duties as the Surgical Technician Coordinator in the OR during surgical and other invasive procedures under the direction of a registered nurse. Performs routine scrub duties according to AORN standards and established policies and procedures of the department of surgery. Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment for all. Keeps current and operating room techniques, procedures, instruments, supplies and equipment; assists with the ongoing Performance improvement Program. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends, and holidays. Assists with annual performance evaluations and competencies.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved operating room technician program.

Experience:

Required:

• Minimum 2 years experience as an OR Surgical Technologist and 1 year experience in general
• Experience in assisting in ordering general supplies for procedures
• Experience in oversight of maintenance and care of surgical instruments & equipment

Certifications:

Required: AHA BLS. Preferred: Surgical Technologist Certification.

West Boca Medical Center (WBMC) is part of the Palm Beach Health Network and has been serving southern Palm Beach and northern Broward counties for over 37 years. WBMC offers general medical and surgical care, orthopedics, a robotic surgery program, a state-of-the art breast imaging center, womens and childrens services and the only level III NICU in southern Palm Beach County.
