Seeking skilled paraprofessionals for per diem roles in a Missouri school district serving primarily elementary schools. This contract position offers flexible scheduling, supporting a range of special education classrooms across multiple schools with a focus on behavioral interventions and student support.
Location:
- North Kansas City, Missouri
Position Overview:
- Per diem paraprofessional assignments covering contractor callouts through a mobile app system
- Work 1 to 5 days per week; daily shifts typically available
- Support students in special education classrooms, including those with behavioral needs and Individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Roles may include 1:1 support or classroom aide responsibilities
- Hours vary by school level:
- Middle School: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- High School: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Must be available for finger printing specific to the district
Qualifications:
- Active substitute or paraprofessional certification through the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) required prior to start
- Experience in school settings with students who exhibit behavioral challenges
- Ability to assist with toileting and other personal care as needed
- Familiarity with behavioral support plans (BIPs) preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students in special education settings
- Follow individualized student plans and collaborate with school staff to foster a positive learning environment
- Use the designated app to receive and accept daily assignments and locations
