As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in Salem, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic utilities location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. In this unarmed patrol role, you will stay visible, complete routine rounds, and contribute to a caring culture built on teamwork, integrity, agility, reliability, and innovation.

Pay Rate: $18.67 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to the appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials when required, and support access control activities for authorized personnel, visitors, and deliveries.
• Communicate with site contacts, local responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding security-related issues, maintenance concerns, and/or conditions that could impact daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
