Third Party Building Inspector - Certified HERS Rater

This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged. Responsibilities Perform energy efficiency testing and field inspections during various stages of construction Conduct blower door, ventilation, and duct leakage testing Report violations and maintain files/records Perform other related duties as required Qualifications Certified HERS Rater 3-5 Years of experience as a Rater in the ENERGY STAR program High School or Equivalent Good Driving Record Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions Ability to positively interact with the staff, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good time management, organization, and attention to detail Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment Physical Requirements and Work Environment Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling to conduct inspections; ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas; occasional lifting up to 25–50 pounds Vision and Hearing: Visual acuity to read plans and detect hazards; hearing to communicate in noisy environments Manual Dexterity: Use of hands to handle tools and operate equipment Work Environment: Office and field settings; exposure to outdoor weather and construction sites; frequent travel between sites Compensation and Benefits SafeBuilt pays competitive wages and has a comprehensive benefits offering.
