Medical Services Manager

Job Title: Medical Services Manager Reports To: Executive Director Person Presently in Position: Job Purpose: To supervise and oversee medical and nursing staff Program Responsibilities: Monitor patient care to ensure that patients receive quality and consistent care according to the Optimization and Ethical Standards Oversee ordering of medical supplies Communicate with Medical Director regarding current and changing policies, addressing any questions that may arise with Medical Staff and patients. Miscellaneous Tasks: Oversee communication with Center for Disease Control for STD results, ultrasound equipment, maintenance issues, Medical Waste Dept. for proper waste disposal, communicate with Berks County Health, and assure that CLIA Waver is up to date. Plan and facilitate mandatory medical staff meetings Oversee medical office operations and ensure department remains within the allotted budget. Perform nursing and sonography role as necessary Maintain safe and clean working environment by implementing procedures, rules and regulations. Monitor faxing of patient information and Medical follow-up calls Maintain frequent communication with Executive Director to report ongoing MS information and to assure seamless interface and communication, as well as issues of personnel. Maintain nursing guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures Personnel Responsibilities: Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to the medical staff in order to facilitate a team atmosphere- setting clear guidelines for staff interactions with fellow staff members and with patients and their visitors. When needed, personnel issues will be addressed to promote a productive and supportive work environment. Act as liaison between senior staff and medical staff Along with Executive Director, Interview and hire new medical personnel. Maintain nursing staff by recruiting, orienting and training nurses and sonographers Organize and monitor monthly employee schedule Hold department training sessions as necessary Perform yearly reviews with medical staff Enforce adherence to the state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements, including BLS (Basic Life Support.) Audit patient and department records for quality control Fiscal Responsibilities: Oversee and help design budget for medical department Community Responsibilities: Attend community functions as required by Executive Director Other Responsibilities: Attend staff and volunteer meetings as required Assist at Fundraising Events Attend All-Staff events as required Assist with Patient Helpline as Required For application and reference forms: Qualifications: RN required Good people skills Good organizational skills Fulfil the requirements located on the Lifeline of Berks County Pregnancy Center application
