Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Nights

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care delivery for neonatal patient populations using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Identify nursing diagnoses based on patient responses to health problems and develop individualized plans of care
• Utilize knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to facilitate safe transitions through the healthcare encounter, minimizing preventable complications or delays
• Perform specialized NICU interventions including HIE management, surfactant administration, and PICC line placement and maintenance
• Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel in accordance with the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and staff competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of current Level III or Level IV NICU experience
• Demonstrated experience with HIE, surfactant administration, and PICC lines
• Active AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Submission of a NICU-specific skills checklist, two supervisory references from within the last year, and proof of taxable address

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-acuity public health system or teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary care team collaboration in a Level III or Level IV NICU setting
