Job Summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineering Technician 2 / Test Technician to provide technical and test support to engineering teams in a manufacturing and aerospace environment. The technician will execute component and system-level testing, collect and analyze technical data, maintain test documentation and equipment, and troubleshoot test-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide test and technical support to engineers on various technical tasks.
• Execute component- and system-level test plans, procedures, and test events.
• Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews.
• Analyze measurement requirements and equipment tolerances.
• Maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipment.
• Maintain and improve test equipment and infrastructure.
• Gather, format, compile, and analyze technical and test data.
• Conduct tests and record results to support engineering evaluation and analysis.
• Maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and test reports.
• Troubleshoot test problems and support manufacturing, inspection, and test engineering activities.
• Prepare technical reports in customer-required formats.
• Support internal and external customer requirements.
• Work in cleanroom and environmental test areas.
• Travel between Oxnard and Goleta locations and support customers as required.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience .
• 2+ years of technician experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings .
• Experience with Microsoft Office and process documentation .
• Experience working in a cleanroom/environmental test environment .
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Ability to remain on feet for extended periods.
• Ability to handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work multiple shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with delicate spacecraft/aerospace hardware .
• Engineering-related certifications.
• Some college education.

Work Schedule

Candidates must be flexible to support:

• 1st Shift: 7:00 AM 4:45 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM Midnight
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of engineering or manufacturing technician experience , strong hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills, the ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and experience documenting and analyzing test results in a structured manufacturing or engineering environment.
