Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney (Midlevel) – Los Angeles

Direct Counsel is seeking a midlevel Commercial Litigation Associate to join a national, full-service law firm in its Los Angeles office.

• JD from an accredited law school

• 3–5 years of commercial litigation experience

• Prior law firm and/or judicial clerkship experience preferred

• Active membership in the California State Bar (or pending)

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing complex litigation matters, including:

• Drafting pleadings and contested motions (motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, preliminary injunctions, and class certification briefing)

• Legal research and writing on substantive and procedural issues

• Taking and defending depositions

• Propounding and responding to written discovery

• Arguing motions and participating in hearings

Experience or demonstrated interest in complex litigation , particularly consumer class actions and business litigation , is strongly preferred. The firm will also consider candidates with experience in trademark or trade secret litigation .

• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to manage cases with increasing autonomy

• Strong client-service orientation

• Self-motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented

• Interest in building a long-term litigation practice in a collegial environment

• Base salary range: $255,000 – $330,000 (California market; commensurate with experience)

• Bonus eligibility
