Senior counselors should be involved in the crisis intervention.Handles a small caseload, delivering all treatment components to assigned patients; providing both individual and group therapy.Ensures that the clients in their respective program, building or floor are supported throughout the day and works with the RSS and RSS supervisors on the day-to-day concerns.Participates in case conferences to assess patient progress, where needed; makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning and advancement to the next treatment level.Makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness and needed revisions to the program design and/or policies and procedures.Provides input for annual counselor performance evaluations for the Clinical Supervisor’s and/or Program Director’s review.Teach and train staff in the clinical aspects of a treatment, rendering individual training whenever necessary, while observing staff performance in actual treatment situations.Assist with the oversight of the CASAC intern program and training and onboarding.Medication monitoring.Job Details:Ronkonkoma Residential – Ronkonkoma, NYFull Time-non-exemptSalary range $23.51 - $35.29.REQUIRED EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma/GEDBachelors preferredLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSIndependent license issued by NYSCredentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferredREQUIRED EXPERIENCEMinimum three years of experience working with the substance use disorder populationMinimum one year of experience in a supervisory roleCOMPETENCIES (KSAs)Ethical PracticesJudgmentRelationship ManagementEmotional IntelligenceEmpathyProfessional BoundariesGlobal and Cultural AwarenessCritical EvaluationProblem SolvingDecision MakingCommunicationTeamworkCrisis ManagementTechnical CapacityWORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in an indoor office environment.
