Strategic Capacity/Procurement Representative

Our client is a growing 3pl logistics brokerage company seeking an experienced Strategic Capacity/Procurement Carrier Sales Representative for their downtown Chicago, IL office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic relationships with core carriers identifying fleet size, equipment availability, operating regions, lane preferences, and back haul opportunities
- Secure dedicated and committed capacity through effective negotiation
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to design transportation solutions for account expansion and network optimization
- Uncover new lane opportunities, modal expansion, dedicated fleet solutions, and mutually beneficial growth initiatives
- Establish, monitor, and communicate KPI's for strategic carrier partners, including service performance, on-time pickup and delivery, acceptance rates, tracking compliance, and profitability
- Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with strategic carriers
- Ensure pricing strategies support company margin and growth objectives.
- Continuously evaluate market conditions and carrier capacity trends
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing strategic initiatives that enhance service, increase capacity, reduce costs, and support the company's long-term growth strategy.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a Carrier Sales or Carrier Procurement role within a 3pl non asset-based brokerage
- Strong strategic sourcing, lane optimization, and negotiation skills
Location: In office daily in downtown Chicago, IL (required)
Compensation: $70k - $85k base + variable compensation
