Job Title: Dock Door Technician/Facilities Maintenance Technician

Summary

The Dock Door Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all dock doors, dock levelers, and loading bay equipment within a manufacturing facility. This role also supports general facilities maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the building and its systems. The technician will work independently and with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Dock door maintenance — Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair dock doors, dock levelers, bumpers, restraints, seals, and related loading dock equipment.
• Preventive maintenance — Perform scheduled PMs on dock equipment, building systems, and facility infrastructure to prevent failures and extend equipment life.
• Mechanical troubleshooting — Diagnose mechanical issues involving springs, rollers, tracks, hinges, hydraulics, and pneumatic components.
• Electrical repairs — Perform minor electrical troubleshooting on motors, switches, sensors, and control panels associated with dock and facility equipment.
• Facilities upkeep — Support building maintenance including lighting, plumbing, HVAC filter changes, minor carpentry, and general facility repairs.
• Safety compliance — Ensure all work meets OSHA, company, and regulatory safety standards; maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Vendor coordination — Assist with scheduling and overseeing external contractors for specialized repairs or inspections.
• Documentation — Record all maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair notes in the CMMS system.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial or commercial maintenance.
• Knowledge of dock equipment including sectional doors, high‑speed roll‑ups, and hydraulic or mechanical levelers.
• Basic electrical skills including troubleshooting 120V/240V circuits and control wiring.
• Facilities maintenance experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and work orders.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and operate power tools safely.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.

Preferred Experience

• Welding or fabrication for minor repairs or bracket installations.
• Hydraulic system troubleshooting.
• Experience with CMMS systems for work order management.
• Prior work in industrial manufacturing or distribution facilities.

Work Environment

The work environment offers both day shift from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM and night shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Employees are expected to perform their duties efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
