Senior Engineering Manager

Job Description

Overview : We’re partnering with an established manufacturer serving the automotive, industrial, and utility markets to hire a Senior Engineering Manager . This hands-on leader will mentor the engineering team, establish practical processes, and drive manufacturing improvements while working closely with Operations, Sales, Production, and Quality.

Location: Caledonia, WI 53402

Salary Range : $120,000–$130,000 base salary + annual bonus

Job Duties :

• Lead daily engineering activities, establish priorities, and provide technical direction across projects.
\n
• Coach and mentor junior engineers while developing accountability, technical skills, and future leaders.
\n
• Establish and improve engineering and manufacturing processes, procedures, and documentation.
\n
• Work directly with operators and technicians to troubleshoot production issues and implement improvements.
\n
• Support manufacturing processes that include die casting, cable assembly, crimping, and soldering.
\n
• Improve first-time yield, reduce scrap, increase throughput, and strengthen process capability through practical Lean and Kaizen methods.
\n
• Oversee engineering projects from design through completion, meeting technical, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
\n
• Partner with Sales and customers to evaluate technical requirements and support new business opportunities.
\n
• Oversee design and drafting activities using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
\n
• Manage drawing control, revision management, and engineering changes through the ECO/ECN process.
\n
• Maintain accurate engineering data in the ERP system, including item records, bills of material, routings, and standards.
\n
• Identify technical and operational risks and implement appropriate solutions.
\n

Qualifications :

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, materials, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
\n
• At least 8 years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years leading and developing engineers.
\n
• Strong manufacturing or process engineering background with demonstrated success establishing and improving processes.
\n
• Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to work regularly on the production floor.
\n
• Experience with die casting, cable assembly, crimping, soldering, or related manufacturing processes preferred.
\n
• Experience applying Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methods to measurable production challenges.
\n
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
\n
• Experience with engineering change control, manufacturing documentation, and ERP data.
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production employees, customers, and company leadership.
\n
• Ability to balance engineering requirements with operational needs and financial priorities.
