This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in providing overall administrative and technical direction on projects.Essential FunctionsAssist in planning, organizing and managing the field team with the Project Manager and Estimator.Analyze and price out change orders.Assist the Project Manager with the establishment of project objectives.Represent Griffith Company by initiating and maintaining liaison with primary owner representatives.Assist with the overall management of the financial aspects of the contract, including job cost reports, billings, budget changes, change orders, accounts payable processing and collections.Assist in the review of deliverables prepared by the team before submitting to Owner.Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.Supervise, direct, and mentor project engineering staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met.Coordinate multi-phases and tasks of construction including the management and scheduling of subcontractors, vendors and suppliers as well as any self-performed work.Provide support to Project Manager.Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations and procedures for accomplishing project.Participate in the preparation of project reports for management and owners.Assist Project Superintendents and Foremen in scheduling workReview timesheetsProvide safety and quality control managementMaintain accurate forecasting and management of project budgets.Manage subcontractors and project team (subordinates)Resolve problems involving labor disputes, material deliveries and contracts/subcontract administrationAssist Project Manager with the oversight of document control and coordination of subcontractorsOther duties as assignedEducationMinimum of a Bachelor's degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.Specific Job Knowledge, Skills And AbilityThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:Must have a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.Excellent writing, presentation, and computer skillsMust be proficient in Build2WinMust have an understanding of time impact analysis and time related overheadMust be familiar with Contract AccountingMust have an understanding of critical path and track delays.Must have a valid driver's licenseOther requirements may applyCompetenciesProject ManagementEthical ConductHighly OrganizedNegotiationTime ManagementLeadershipProblem Solving/AnalysisFinancial ManagementResults DrivenProcess OrientedCommunication Proficiency (Verbal & Written)Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Frequently required to stand and walk at construction jobsitesFrequently required to sit for extended periods of timeMust frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Company Benefits PackageIn addition to offering a comprehensive benefits package for all employees — including a superior health benefits package — Griffith Company also offers generous performance-based compensation.
