Head of Communications [Remote]

Lead and own external communications to build trust, credibility, and visibility for a high-growth AI data lab. This role directs public relations, media relations, executive positioning, product launch messaging, and partnerships to shape how the company is understood across media, customers, and the AI ecosystem.

• Develop and execute the companywide external communications and PR strategy, covering product launches, company announcements, partnerships, and executive thought leadership.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, creators, analysts, and industry influencers to secure earned media across digital, print, broadcast, podcasts, and social channels.
• Create messaging and positioning for product launches, partnerships, and major company announcements.
• Position company leaders through interviews, speaking engagements, bylines, and other media opportunities.
• Prepare executives for media interactions with messaging, briefing materials, and coaching.
• Manage external PR agencies, communications vendors, and other communications partners.
• Lead crisis and rapid-response communications when required.

• Significant experience leading communications or PR for high-growth technology companies.
• Required skills: PR, vendor management, partnerships, communications strategy.
• Exceptional writing, storytelling, and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven track record securing top-tier media coverage and building long-term press relationships.
• Experience leading communications for product launches and major company announcements.
• Strong strategic judgment, able to translate complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Preferred experience: AI, developer tools, enterprise software, or B2B SaaS; familiarity with AI and emerging technologies; experience with distributed teams; crisis communications experience.

• Advertised compensation range: $250, 000 - $400, 000 yearly.
• Company notice lists a national base pay range for this full-time position of $150, 000 - $200, 000.
